Production

 

Nowadays Asturpharma combines multipurpose production plants with devoted plants.
The factory of Silvota has a production capacity of 70,000 litres, including glass-lined reactors (up to 6,000 litres), stainless steel reactors (up to 3,000 litres) and glass reactors
(up to 200 litres).

 

The plant owns all the required services for a multipurpose plant : steam, heating water, cooling water, brine, nitrogen inertization, etc...

The facilities permit the execution of processes with temperatures from –10 ºC to +140ºC and pressures between 10 kg/cm2 and 1mm Hg.
Among the reactions carried out in the plant : hydrogenations, nitrations, acid chloride synthesis, Beckmann´s transposition, Friedel-Crafts acylations and alkylations, and reductions with metal hydrides are worthy to underline.


Asturpharma manufactures with a discontinuous and flexible system of production, in which the main requirements of our customers are also contemplated.
We should divide our production into two groups:
Non-sterile production
Obtention of the active principle through chemical synthesis.
All our products belong to this kind of production, with the exception of two obtained in the aseptic areas (see the attached list of our products) .

Sterile production
Obtention of the active principle in classified areas.
In this area is now produced:
- Sterile Sulbactam Sodium
- Sulbactam Sodium + Ampicillin Sodium Sterile Mixture

The particularly relevant manufacturing units are the following:
- Hidrogenation plant.
- Production unit for hazardous products.
- Sterile manufacturing unit.
- Clean area for final product manufacturing.
- Plant for the biological treatment of sewage.
